Dr. Kropf joined Wilton Family Eye Care in 2018 after graduating from the State University of New York College of Optometry. He was born and raised in Fairfield County, and is the son of Dr. Irene Rosenberg and our Practice Manager, Joe Kropf. He completed his undergraduate degree at the College of Wooster in Ohio as a psychology major with a focus on perceptual psychology and was an active performance pianist within Wooster's music program.
During his time at SUNY, Dr. Kropf grew his clinical expertise in several fields, including pediatrics, contact lenses and ocular disease. He went on to complete a three-month rotation at the Newington VA Hospital in Connecticut, where he helped veterans with a wide variety of ocular disease such as diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and macular degeneration. Additionally, he completed a three-month rotation at Downtown Eyecare, an optometry/ophthalmology practice in Brooklyn, New York, where he managed a large and varied population of patients and gained experience in managing post surgeries including cataract extractions and laser surgeries. Dr. Kropf also completed a rotation in California at Family Vision Care, a primarily pediatric practice where he gained expertise in myopia control and vision therapy.
In his spare time, Dr. Kropf enjoys playing piano, hiking and sailing.
